🔔 Setting Up Policy Reminders

Wevanta can automatically remind you before each premium is due and before your policy matures — so you never miss a payment or lose a policy benefit.

⚙️ Enabling Reminders — When Adding a Policy

  1. While adding or editing a policy, scroll to the Reminders & Status section
  2. Toggle Remind Me to ON (blue toggle)
  3. Set Remind Before (Days) — how many days before due date you want the alert
    • 7 days — recommended for most policies
    • 30 days — recommended for large annual premiums to arrange funds
    • 1 day — for fully automated NACH/auto-debit policies where you just need awareness
  4. Save the policy — reminders are created automatically

📅 What Reminders are Created Automatically

When you enable "Remind Me" and generate the installment schedule, Wevanta creates:

Reminder TypeWhenAmount
⏰ Premium Due: Policy Name #1N days before each installment due datePremium amount
⏰ Premium Due: Policy Name #2N days before installment #2Premium amount
🎯 Policy Maturity: Policy NameN days before maturity dateExpected maturity value
💰 Money Back Due (if Money Back type)N days before each money-back payoutMoney-back amount

🔔 Where to See Your Reminders

  • Policy Detail → Reminders Tab — all reminders for this specific policy
  • Sidebar → 🔔 Reminders — all reminders across all modules (policies, loans, recurring)
  • Topbar 🔔 icon — quick access to upcoming reminders

✅ When a Reminder Auto-Completes

When you record a premium payment using the 💳 Pay button:

  • The associated reminder is automatically marked as Completed
  • No manual action needed — just pay and the reminder clears

❌ Cancelling Reminders

Reminders are automatically cancelled if you:

  • Change a policy's status to Lapsed / Closed / Surrendered
  • Archive (delete) the policy
  • Regenerate the installment schedule (old pending reminders are deleted, new ones created)

💡 Pro Tips for Reminders

  • For monthly SIP-style policies: set "Remind Before: 3 days" — just enough notice
  • For annual LIC premiums: set "Remind Before: 30 days" — gives you time to arrange the cash
  • For vehicle or health insurance renewals: set "Remind Before: 30-45 days" — shopping around for better rates takes time
  • If you change the maturity date, go to Edit Policy → Save and the maturity reminder updates automatically
