What is the Credit Score Module?
The Credit Score module lets you check your CRIF High Mark credit score directly within Wevanta — no separate logins, no third-party apps. Your score is fetched using your PAN number, and every check is stored in your history so you can track your credit health over time.
How to Check Your Credit Score
- Go to Profile → Credit Score or click Credit Score in the sidebar.
- Enter your PAN number in the format: 5 uppercase letters + 4 digits + 1 uppercase letter (e.g., ABCDE1234F). Wevanta validates the PAN format before submission.
- Click Check Score. The result appears within seconds.
Understanding Your Result
Wevanta displays:
- Credit Score: A number typically in the range of 300–900.
- Score Band: A plain-English label explaining what the score means.
Score Bands and What They Mean
| Score Range | Band | What It Means for You |
|---|---|---|
| 750 – 900 | Excellent | Best loan rates, instant approvals, premium credit cards. Banks compete for your business. You are a top-tier borrower. |
| 700 – 749 | Good | Most loans approved. Slightly higher interest rates than Excellent band. Small improvements can unlock better rates. |
| 650 – 699 | Fair | Loans may be approved with conditions — higher interest, lower loan amounts, or collateral required. Improvement possible within 6–12 months. |
| 550 – 649 | Poor | Loan rejections likely from mainstream banks. NBFCs and fintechs may lend at high rates. Focus on clearning outstanding dues immediately. |
| Below 550 | Very Poor / No History | Most credit applications will be rejected. If no credit history — start with a secured credit card or small consumer loan to build a score. |
Score History
Every check you perform is saved. The history page shows all your past checks with:
- The score at the time of each check.
- The date and time of the check.
- The score band at that time.
This historical tracking is powerful — you can see whether your score is trending up or down over months, correlate it with credit events (taking a new loan, clearing an old one, missing an EMI), and make informed decisions.
Caching Behaviour
If you check your score multiple times in a short period, Wevanta may serve a cached result (indicated by a "From Cache" marker). This is intentional — excessive score checks in a short window can themselves negatively impact your CRIF report. The cache ensures your score is not over-queried.
Key Factors That Affect Your Score
- Payment History (35%): Never miss an EMI or credit card minimum payment. Even one missed EMI can drop your score 50–100 points.
- Credit Utilisation (30%): Keep your credit card usage below 30% of the limit. If your limit is ₹1L, try to spend under ₹30,000 per month before paying.
- Credit Age (15%): Older accounts help. Do not close your oldest credit card even if you rarely use it.
- Credit Mix (10%): Having both secured loans (home, car) and unsecured credit (credit card) is healthier than only one type.
- New Credit Enquiries (10%): Each loan/card application triggers a hard enquiry. Multiple applications in a short period signal financial stress and lower your score.
