The Building Blocks of Net Worth

In Wevanta, "Accounts" are the fundamental building blocks of your family's net worth. We track everything you own (Assets), everything you owe (Liabilities), and where your money flows from (Income Sources) across exactly 30 specialized categories.

Supported Asset Classes

  • Market Investments: Stocks, Mutual Funds, ETF, Crypto. (Supports Units & NAV tracking).
  • Fixed Return: Fixed Deposits (FD), PPF, VPF, NPS, EPF / Provident Fund, Sukanya Samriddhi.
  • Real Assets: Property, Gold / Silver, Vehicle.
  • Liquid: Bank Account, Cash Wallet.
  • Insurance: LIC, ULIP.
  • Corporate: Gratuity, ESOPs / RSUs, Pension.

Supported Liability Classes

  • Loans: Home Loan, Car Loan, Personal Loan, Education Loan.
  • Revolving Debt: Credit Card.
  • Receivables: Loan Given (Money you lent out).

The Auto-Recalculation Engine

Your account balances do not need to be manually updated every day. The Recalculation Engine runs silently in the background:

  1. Invested Value is calculated mathematically by summing all historical Deposit, Buy, and SIP transactions, and subtracting Withdrawal and Sell events.
  2. Current Value is either manually defined (for illiquid assets like Property), instantly calculated via Units × NAV (for Stocks/MFs), or generated based on running ledger balances.

Whenever you add a new account with a positive balance, Wevanta automatically generates a genesis Deposit transaction named "Initial balance on account creation" to ensure the ledger matches from Day 1.

Granular Family Access Control

Because Wevanta is built for families, every account belongs to a primary owner, but can be shared. By opening an account and clicking Family Access, you can assign roles to linked family members:

  • 👑 Owner: Can edit account details, delete the account, and log transactions.
  • ✏️ Editor: Cannot delete the account, but can log new transactions (good for a spouse handling daily accounting).
  • 👁️ Viewer: Cannot edit anything. Has read-only access to view charts, metrics, and ledgers.
  • 🚫 Blocked: Explicitly hides the account from this selected member.
